Yellow Wiggle calls it quits! What will my son do?

YELLOW Wiggle Greg Page has been struck down with a mystery illness that threatens his future with the children’s music super group.

While The Wiggles are on tour in the US with a replacement member, Page, 34, is battling the condition, which includes regular bouts of fainting, at his Sydney home.

Group manager Paul Field – brother of Blue Wiggle Anthony Field – yesterday vigorously denied speculation that Page had been diagnosed with cancer – “Absolutely not the case,” he said.

When contacted by The Daily Telegraph yesterday, Page said he was “not really well enough to talk”, but in a statement released to fans the lead singer explained his absence from the current US tour, saying doctors were yet to diagnose the health problem behind the fainting spells.

“I have had numerous bouts of this over the past eight months but they are getting more frequent, and more concerning.

“So I have decided that I must go home, rest and seek further medical advice to assure myself that I will be OK for future tours,” he said.

Page has often been absent from Wiggles shows since a double hernia operation in December and has been replaced by his long-time understudy Sam Moran.

Paul Field said Page had medical advice that “absolutely ruled out” any link between his current illness and that operation.
