What a relief…

I was really sacred when I started taking this test….I can live with this!

I am nerdier than 68% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

32% scored higher (more nerdy), and
68% scored lower (less nerdy).

What does this mean? My nerdiness is:
Low Ranking Nerd. Definitely a nerd but low on the totem pole of nerds.

Just Imagine…

You walk into your bathroom and sit down on your Swash contoured and comfortably heated toilet seat. When finished, you simply press a button for a posterior or feminine wash and you are met with a warm, aerated water spray. You can dry yourself with the warm air dryer or pat-dry with a small amount of toilet paper. You leave your bathroom shower-fresh as the gentle-closing lid slowly lowers behind you.

What is a Swash?

A Swash is a high-tech toilet seat (also known as a seat bidet) that utilizes two retractable water wands to provide a fresh and hygienic cleansing of posterior and feminine areas. A Swash actually replaces your conventional toilet seat. Better than a conventional toilet seat, it has a heated seat and delivers a warm water wash with temperature, pressure, and pulsation adjustability. All functions are easily operated at the push of a button through side-mounted controls (Swash 400) or through a remote control (Swash 600).

RFID Journal - RFID Track Tires at NASCAR Race

Nov. 25, 2005—At last weekend’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. employed radio frequency identification to track leased racecar tires. Thanks to RFID tags embedded in tire sidewalls, Goodyear successfully tracked the tires’ movement from the warehouse to the drivers and back again.

Organizational Structure

Xooglers is a blog written by an ex-Google employee. His insight is well written and interesting. I particularly like where he talks about the hiring practices at Google. If you can actually get an organization to run the way he describes operations at Google, I would think it would be an incredibly efficient model!

To understand Google’s hiring policies and organizational structure, it helps to think of employees as cells within the corporate corpus. It’s useful to have cells that serve specific functions when the need arises, but it’s inefficient to have those cells hanging around sucking energy from the rest of the organism if their singular function is no longer required. Better to have cells that can adapt themselves to any situation, solve the problem and then move on to the next issue. Yeah, we’re talking about stem cells.

Where does the time go?

Wow almost a full month since my last post….where does the time go? The past month has been crazy! My grandfather has been in the hospital and our family has been doing shift work spending the nights and days with him (I wish I were smart enough to design a hospital in which you could actually sleep). In the midst of taking care of Papa, my wife and I have been steady preparing for what we pray will be an on-time arrival of Joshua Eric.
That preparation has consisted of a cornucopia of activity…things like: the dismantling of my office; the creation of a nursery in what was once my office; the painting of the nursery, kid’s bathroom, and master bathroom (that’s right the master bath has nothing to do with the baby coming, I just got conned by my precious wife); the removal of all of the baby stuff from the attic; and the purchase of a new car (one that will actually fit two kids).
Today is the day after Thanksgiving, and I’m thankful to be finished with all of that! Within the next two weeks the nursery will be finished, everything will be in it’s place, the bag will be packed, and we will begin patiently waiting…I’m told that if all goes as planned the arrival of JET will be on January 23rd.
And with that it is time to go in the other room and help my wife with the yearly transformation of our home called Christmas Decorating.
